Fluid fade is caused by heat induced boiling of the brake fluid in the calipers. This heat produces compressible bubbles in the brake system which leads to a soft and spongy pedal. In the worst cases, the pedal can depress fully to the floor without slowing the vehicle down.
A major cause of fluid fade is absorbed moisture from the atmosphere. Select a higher boiling point fluid to maintain consistent braking performance even when temperatures rise.
Note: Many vendors will claim that fluid will prevent brake (pad) fade. This is incorrect. The only way to reduce brake (pad) fade is to improve the brake pad compounds themselves. We offer a complete line of high performance compound brake pads to prevent brake (pad) fade.
